Loud & Proud: Boundless Supports Pride And Diversity!

Last year, Boundless launched the Boundless Cares initiative. We made pledges internally, locally, and globally to always strive to do the right thing in every aspect of our business. Under Boundless Cares, we became an official Gold Level Austin Green Business Leader, organized monthly company volunteer days, and launched the industry’s first fully transparent product catalog.
 
Committees sprung up, leaders emerged from all departments, and together we turned our words into actions!
 

We're so proud of the Boundless Cares initiative and to have a group that wants to be involved and works to make our workplace and community a better place.  Everyday, we can walk into a workplace where LGBTQ co-workers and friends are free to be themselves—and that is something we try not to take for granted.  As a company, we’ve accomplished a lot in the last year. As part of the Boundless Cares umbrella, we have launched a formal Diversity Committee and Statement.

While acceptance and respect towards one another have long been a part of our culture and core values, we wanted to formalize where we stand on diversity. We want to make sure that everyone at our company feels safe and welcome in their work environment. With that in mind, our statement is as follows:

Boundless promotes, supports and encourages a culture of acceptance and respect.  We provide equitable opportunities and treatment of all people regardless of gender identity, race, national origin, age, sexual orientation, physical ability, ideology, and other characteristics that make our employees unique. 

 We actively foster a culture that sustains a safer, more productive, and inclusive office environment and encourage our employees to engage in and positively contribute to the diverse community in which we work and live. We do this by:

  • Respectful communication and cooperation between all employees.
  • Educating ourselves about cultures and communities other than our own.
  • Refraining from the use of derogatory and disrespectful language.
  • Not contributing to stereotypes or generalizing about specific individuals or entire communities.
  • Respecting the dignity and human rights of each individual.
  • Celebrating our differences together.

As a company, we have committed to walking the walk in regards to the new policy.  We want current and prospective employees to know that at Boundless our differences are celebrated and that fostering a positive and accepting work environment is a huge priority for management.  Along with formalizing our stance, we will also be actively participating in community events and offering educational training to our employees.

We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off our diversity initiative than by celebrating at the Austin PRIDE parade over the weekend! Along with attending the parade, festivities also included a happy hour that celebrated and supported the LGBTQ community, while also educating attendees.  We felt it was hugely important to open up dialogue. Along with an educational slideshow about PRIDE and the LGBTQ community, we also set up a large piece of butcher paper on the wall and invited attendees to share “What PRIDE means to me”.

We are thrilled to be expanding our Boundless Cares initiative and to continue to celebrate our differences! PRIDE was just the start, and we are excited for what’s next.
