Are you that person?  You know – the one on your team with all the answers.  The person everyone goes to with questions because you basically are a walking encyclopedia.  You may not be the boss, but you’re a valuable resource and you don’t mind being the go-to person when there are questions.  And it’s OK – we all want to be recognized and appreciated.  So raise your hand if you think you are a Marketing know-it-all…

If you’re like me, you aspire to be the Hermione Granger of the marketing world.  And even if you are the smartest person in the room, it is important to recognize your own limitations and know when to ask for help or utilize the expertise of others.  That’s why maintaining good relationships and surrounding yourself with a network of smart and creative people is essential.  You want to have a well-rounded team in your corner. It’s inevitable – we all need help sometimes, and by reaching out (and being a resource for others) we enable both our own as well as others’ success.

Knowing-it-all Vs Specializing

There is a difference between knowing a lot and specializing.  It can be tempting to skirt by with general knowledge and know-how, but if you want to take your branding to the next level, we recommend bringing in the marketing experts.  But just for kicks, we have created this fun quiz to see how much you really know when it comes to marketing.  Do you remember your marketing vocab words?  Can you identify famous marketers from a quote, or name the brand just from their slogan?  Take the quiz!

So, how did you do?  Whether you were an expert or your score could use some improvement, there is still so much to learn.  Since we as individuals have specialties, why should we expect anything different from businesses?  An agency may claim to be a one-stop-shop that can meet all your needs, and they may have a couple of talented specialists to fill certain niches, but are they really full-service marketing experts?  With a host of recent startups offering new, innovative technology and solutions custom-built to address specific players, it seems that this specialization trend is the direction the marketing industry is moving in.

Boundless is certainly part of this trend.  We specialize in branded merchandise, developing ingenious solutions, sourcing creative products, and delivering innovative technology solutions to better support and enable our clients’ promotional marketing programs.  Rather than trying to be a one-stop-shop we focus on building great relationships with partners who are experts in their specialties, so we know we can rely on them to complement our services.  We’re here to coordinate and create the best solutions for our clients.  Whether that is coordinating a nationwide uniform program, or sourcing a fun giveaway idea for your next tradeshow, we’ve got your back.  We may not be a complete “know-it-all” here at Boundless, but we sure know a lot about branded merchandise.
