Tears of Joy
“I can’t believe what I’m seeing… I’m going to cry.”
-Distributor owner after being shown the Boundless support and technology platform
Today was a first for me and for Boundless: actual tears of joy!
Today at our Austin, Texas headquarters we hosted a very professional sole proprietor distributor from Minnesota. This is a standard part of our process—we invite people to come to Austin to get a view of the company from the inside out. I call this the “first overnight date,” when folks can get a real feel for the intangibles of Boundless Network, the dynamics of the management team and the out-of-the-box culture. After the overnight stay, people walk away with a better idea of who we are and what we offer.
I couldn’t resist writing a blog about what happened today. We literally had a distributor crying in our conference room (the good kind of crying).
The economy stinks right now, and many in our industry are crying tears of pain and frustration. It just goes to show—when you’ve got a grown man shedding tears in the middle of a meeting, you know you’ve got a powerful message and an industry-changing platform.
Because I’m so close to the company and experience our support, resources, technology and culture every day, I sometimes take them for granted. It’s so rewarding to see an outsider get emotionally charged about Boundless, and it reminds me that, although we’re not perfect, we really have something here. For me, they were tears of validation.
The story has a happy ending. I’m glad to report that Boundless will be acquiring a new market leader in Minnesota—which makes me (and him) happy.
Peace out!
JB
